Dear neighbour,
We’re seeking your input, and that of all fellow residents of Dover Place, in an opportunity to discuss the evolution of our communal garden.
By way of introduction, we live at 3 Dover Place and have been tending the garden for several years. You may have spotted us out there, drowning tulips, overfeeding squash and -------------. In doing so, our primary aim has been to improve the garden for the benefit of all who see or use it. We’ve sought to gradually develop the space such that it forms the foundation for wider involvement and usage. It’s been a great delight, therefore, to be joined by more people enjoying the garden in recent weeks and we hope this’ll continue through the summer and beyond.
The timing of this consultation is driven by several factors - a renewed focus on ‘community’ brought about by the national Covid-19 crisis, interest expressed by neighbours who have visited the garden and the necessity for wider involvement if the garden is to reach its full potential. To move this forward, we’re inviting expressions of interest and, thereafter, proposing to convene a (socially distanced) meeting in the garden.
The following pages set out some key aims & objectives that, we’d hope, might find broad appeal, these being represented in the attached scheme. These suggestions are offered only by way of an initial discussion point: we feel our garden has great potential that can only be achieved through engagement with, and participation among, interested parties.
This consultation is open to all residents and property owners at Dover Place - and your participation is most welcome.
Kind regards,
TJ & Becca (3 Dover Place).
